WANTED: FULL-TIME JUNIOR DIRECT RESPONSE COPYWRITER
This is a junior position, 1-2 years of experience required. Full-time, fully remote position in the USA and Canada.
Hi, I’m Brett Allcorn, CEO of Pineapple Products Inc, writing to you here with my Director of Copywriting, and the man who trained me personally, Colin Chung.
I am looking for two junior direct response copywriters to write VSL (video sales letter) scripts and sales funnel copy for health supplements at our fast growing company.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with health benefits, vacation time, HSA/FSA account and a 401K in the US or Canada - and a full remote work environment.
If you’re a fast learner, creative and ambitious, I believe both myself and Colin can help you become a top level direct-response copywriter who earns six to seven figures in commissions on your writing per year.

I founded Pineapple in 2011, and since then we’ve been developing innovative supplements and brands by partnering with top health personalities. These partnerships include famous influencers, doctors and personalities with a unique story to tell.
Since launching, Pineapple has grown rapidly. The company expects nine-figures in projected revenue this year. We have over 80 employees and over 100,000 happy customers. We’ve been featured in the New York Times, CNN, and AM New York.
As the company expands, I am opening up two spots for new copywriters. These are the first two copywriters I will accept into my company in our history. These spots are reserved for the two most ambitious junior writers I can find - writers who truly want to grow to be something great - and who know that if you want to be the best, you must learn from the best.
Thats why, if you are accepted, you will be trained personally by me, my mentor Colin, who is now the company’s Director of Copywriting. And I will also foot to bill to get you additional training from my rolodex of top copywriting consultants.
If you are a copywriter trained in direct response and you know what a “VSL” is and you want to become truly great (and well paid) at what you do, then I’d like to invite you to apply for the opportunity to join my team.
Even if you’ve never written a VSL, or have only written one or two, you are still totally qualified for this opportunity, as long as you’ve written direct response copy for promotional emails, advertorials, Facebook or PPC ads.
Now, this opportunity will not be a right fit for everyone.
There are a few criteria you must meet:
1. You must be coachable. The best sales videos are not written alone. Team of people come together to provide feedback and improvements. The writer is the key person responsible for pursuing feedback from people to make their writing better. You must be willing to aggressively pursue feedback from other talented writers, even if it means the end result is scrapping some or all of your work only to write something better from scratch.
2. You must be ambitious. You must see, envision yourself as and aspire to be a top copywriter of sales video scripts. You do not need to have these skills currently, but you must be eager to learn them and willing to put the time and energy in needed to truly develop your skills, which can take years to develop.
3. You must be a fast learner. Again, as a junior writer, you will not be bringing expert knowledge and skill to the table - but what you can bring to the table is a great attitude and an ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
4. Willing to DO not just learn. The best of the best at anything get their hands dirty. Sure, they might read one or two books, but the majority of skill is about gaining real life experience and getting feedback from a good mentor in the process. Unlike what school teaches us, the fastest way to get good at anything is by DOING, not just by reading or studying.
Reviewing top performing sales video scripts. This includes watching the video, reading the script, taking notes on the script and the visuals in the video, hand-writing out the script (an old, time-tested exercise) and more.
Review sessions. You’ll review your work with the Direct of Copywriting, Colin Chung and occasionally with me, the Founder & CEO, Brett Allcorn.
Educational Assignments. You’ll be assigned reading and writing assignments to improve your skills, all of which you’ll be given feedback on. You’ll learn our highly refined structures and systems for producing powerful, successful, high-converting sales copy. The copy you write may even be tested and used to sell our products, and you’ll get to see and learn from the results of your work in real time.
Learning from world class writers. The best way to train a top writer is to have them learn from other top writers. You’ll learn from myself, Colin Chung and my team of expert consultants to help train you to be one of the best.

First, you will be asked to fill out the short Application Form below.
Once you do that, Colin will email you Step 1 of the application process, the Ability Test.
You have 72 hours to complete the Ability Test.
We’re not asking you to do any free “spec” work, but we do want to see what you’re capable of.
You will be asked to write a few short pieces.
Second, after you submit the first “test assignment”, you will be sent a Written Interview that contains 8 questions you must answer via email. This is Step 2 of the application process.
This interview contains questions about your career history and goals.
There is a 5-day time window to send in your answers to the Written Interview.
Third, you’ll have a 45-minute zoom Video Interview with Colin, which is the Step 3 of the application process - and the final step of the process.
The video Zoom Interview will be a casual conversation about your skills, career as a copywriter and your goals for the future.
During the interview, we are also happy to tell you most about the company, our culture, the opportunities available to you if you join the team and to answer any questions you might have.
If you are quick at completing your work, you should know within a week whether you are on our shortlist for one of the two openings for this position.

Salary: $50-$70K+ per year, plus commissions.
Hours & Location: All remote. Team is 80 strong located across the US and Canada. Hours are 9 to 5pm ET, but flexible depending on your timezone.
